报时用语 每逢整点报时钟声响过后，即可听到播音员的声音：It is 0000 (Zero hour) Greenwich Mean Time and here is the news from the Voice of America. I’m Bill Hansen in Washington. (刚才报时一响是格林威治时间零点整，请听VOA电台的新闻节目，由比尔·汉森在华盛顿向您报告。)又如：It is 2300 (Twenty-three hours) Greenwich Mean Time and here is the news from the Voice of America. I’m John Tremble in Washington.这句和上句的意思一样。请注意这两句中时间的读法。另外逢半点的Special English也都报时，但没有报时钟声。
